Description : All eligible students (aged 11 - 18) within schools in the district are given the right to vote for a young person they want to represent them as a UKYP member. In Wakefield we elect 4 Members via a formal ballot in schools. Elected members work with Youth Workers and Youth Councillors to fulfil the promises they gave in their manifestos and work alongside Council teams and local companies to make things better for young people in the district. Elections for new members are run every 2 years. Anyone wishing to run as a candidate should contact the team. New members for Youth Council are also welcome at any time.
