The Our Family Our Future project is a partnership between the Children and Young People’s Service, Think Family Team and the organisations below as part of the More Money in My Pocket Initiative.
Fun Filled Activities for Children and Families.
Our Family Our Future project aims to work with families to improve their overall household income, address inequalities and work with local schools to identify families who may benefit from early help intervention prior, during and after school holidays. All children and their families who schools feel may benefit from this project can be referred.
During the school holidays Our Family Our Future project in partnership with those listed below provides children and families with the opportunity to access fun fill activities. All sessions will provide a meal for the children with an opportunity for the family to have access to early help support, above and beyond the fun filled activities. Support around mental health and wellbeing, confidence building, COVID 19, financial/debt management, progress into work etc.
Any family that you feel may benefit can be referred however the families eligible for income based free school meals will be given priority places.
Each of the partners below will provide ongoing school holiday activities and are able to support families for at least the next 12 months and beyond. Make contact now for children and families to access activities over the autumn term. As a school you can also contact the providers to build your working relationship and explore what you might be able to offer together.

Home Start, District wide
Home-Start is a national charity with schemes in hundreds of local communities.We recruit and train volunteers to help families with at least one child under eleven. Our volunteers, who know about being a parent, support other parents by visiting them in their own homes for a couple of hours each week. We also run special family groups and hold social events for families.
Autumn Offer
Home-Start provides a service which is district wide and is open to parents of children up to the age of 11 years.
This leads to an individual learning plan which can enhance a CV and demonstrate employability. .

Frickley Athletic Community Foundation, South Elmsall
Frickley Athletic Community Foundation (FACF) was established 1st May 2018 with the aim of bringing the SESKU community more together with various activities.
FACF are also interested in working with schools to deliver after school provision in the local area. Please contact Jan directly on the email below for further discussions.

The Old Quarry Adventure Playground, Knottingley
The Old Quarry Adventure Playground has been supporting local children for over 40 years. The Addy was originally known as the Warwick Adventure Playground and was set up in 1972. At this time, many miners moved to the area and their children would venture down to the quarry to play. The playground was set up to provide local children with a safe space to explore and play
Autumn Offer
The Old Quarry ran FREE Adventure play sessions, Run Riot (a session for children with additional needs) and Youth group sessions all including a FREE meal.

Come to the youth club back door and pick up your festive activity sheet. Free Refreshments available for after you have completed the trail plus a Christmas surprise for all children who take part.

Elite Kids Coaching and The Young People's Empowerment Project, Airedale
Our Mission is to work with communities to harness the power of sport and physical activity as a tool to engage and inspire, raise aspirations and positively impact the lives of the people we work with. To do this we work with primary schools, secondary schools, colleges, universities, community clubs and regional partners in Wakefield and beyond, collaborating on projects around a number of key areas such as; health and wellbeing; skill development, education and training; and creating positive communities.
The Young people's Empowerment project work with people from all walks of life to overcome barriers to achieve their full potential.
Autumn Offer
Free holiday club for children were provided at The Hut, Airedale. The children will took part in sports activities and arts and craft sessions, and a Free lunch was provided for eligible children.
