National Citizen Service (NCS) Programme, Wakefield
Get outdoors, take part in life skills workshops and take the opportunity to design and deliver life changing volunteering projects with your peers.
After much success with their autumn programme, the NCS team have been offered funding to run a free Covid secure in-person 5 day programme in December (approved by NYA, NCS, and government). Aimed at young people aged 16-18 who would benefit from additional support during the winter in this pandemic. The programme will take place in central Wakefield (there is budget to cover transport costs so please do not let this put you off) and involve workshops and activities covering themes such as self-confidence, team building, resilience, public speaking, life skills, and employability.

Next Generation, Wakefield
At Next Generation we organise all kinds of activities for children and young people (aged 8 to 19). During the week we have several groups at Lightwaves. We use the leisure and sport facilities, and our YouthZone with computers, internet access, Xbox1, Nintendo WII, games, arts & crafts, pool and fussbal table and kitchen. On the Stanley Royd playing fields we do outdoor sport & play activities. We go out on trips, walks, visits and workshops to get some new experiences and to have fun. The Princes Trust are pleased to announce we are running some more online employability & wellbeing sessions for 16 - 30 year olds, living within Yorkshire and Humber. Sessions will be held on Microsoft Teams on a rolling weekly basis, with employability sessions on a Tuesday and Wellbeing sessions on a Thursday.

Wakefield Youth service offer a range of support, activities and groups for Children and Young People age 10 to 25 years. Young carers, Stripes group, SEND group, National citizens Service, Duke of Edinburgh Award, Detached Youth work and the Youth council are some of the things you can get involved in.
